CELTIC Football Club is delighted to announce that its Women’s team have agreed a new three-year back of shirt sponsorship with energy company Utilita.

The Women’s team shirt sponsorship is the latest development in Utilita’s successful relationship with Celtic Football Club, having previously sponsored Celtic FC Foundation’s Summer Games programme and Lubo’s Legends v Henrik’s Heroes charity match.

The smart energy experts have helped transform the energy industry, installing the first ever smart meter in 2008. The company estimates that it has saved its 750,000 customers more than £500m since 2010.

Jem Maidment, Director of Marketing and Communications, Utilita said: “We have an excellent relationship with Celtic and count our employability work with the club’s Foundation in 2017 as one of our proudest partnerships in football.

“Following Scotland’s qualification for last June’s World Cup in France, igniting interest in the women’s game in Scotland, there is no better time to support Celtic Women.

“We have been a major supporter of women’s football for many years - we have partnerships with Crystal Palace, Brentford, Portsmouth and Sheffield United – and we strongly believe the beautiful game should be inclusive for all.”

Players Chloe Craig, Cheryl McCulloch and Megan Cunningham launched today’s partnership announcement.

Gordon Kaye Head of Business Development at Celtic Football Club said: “We are delighted to build on our relationship and welcome Utilita to the growing number of sponsors choosing to support Celtic FC women’s team.

“This fantastic three-year commitment from Utilita will see all funds going directly into running the Women's Team and Girls Academy, the sponsorship will directly impact the development of the first-team squad and the wider grassroots Academy.

“Utilita have a history of engaging with our community programmes having previously sponsored Celtic FC Foundation Summer games and we are extremely grateful for their continued support.

“Our women’s team has made some very positive developments in recent months and continues to go from strength to strength.

“We are continually looking to develop women’s football and are committed to doing everything we can to progress further across all teams. “
