Ismaila Soro is expected to complete his £2m move from Bnei Yehuda despite his representatives becoming embroiled in a dispute with his club as reported in The Daily Record.

The news means that Celtic are unlikely to make a move for Tottenham Hotspur’s Victor Wanyama now, but fans of the Parkhead club can be happy with the business that has been conducted so far with Lennon looking to re-invigorate his squad as they look to maintain their unprecedented dominance of Scottish football.

Defensive midfielder, Soro, played what is expected to be his last game for Yehuda on Wednesday night and came through unscathed as he makes the move to the Scottish Premiership to bolster Neil Lennon’s squad in the hunt for 9-in-a-row.

The cause of the hold up in the deal is due to Soro’s representatives wanting a share of the transfer fee as it is believed that they own a percentage of the player, he is yet to complete a medical but there is not expected to be any problems as the midfielder waits for green light to sign on the dotted line.

Will Ismaila Soro make an impact in the second half of the season?

The signing of Soro will alleviate some of the pressure on Scott Brown and Callum McGregor who have played nearly 80 games between them all season with McGregor on track to beat his record tally of 69 games from last season – no player in world football has played more minutes in this campaign.

The signing of the Ivorian takes Celtic’s spending in this window to £5.5m after the deal that saw Patyrk Klimala move from Jagiellonia Bialystok to add extra fire power to the forward line with the departures of both Lewis Morgan and Scott Sinclair respectively.
