Football Insider reported that Tottenham midfielder Victor Wanyama is open to rejoining Celtic in the January transfer window if a deal can be agreed, with that news relayed to followers of the @celticbible Twitter account.

The Tottenham midfielder scored 13 goals in 91 appearances for Celtic in a two-year spell at the club between 2011 and 2013, but has been plagued by knee problems over the last two seasons and has made just three appearances for Spurs in the current campaign.

Celtic fans were excited about the prospect of Wanyama potentially returning to Parkhead on Twitter.

Football Insider added that a loan move was more probable than a permanent deal, with Celtic unlikely to be able to pay the 28-year-old’s £65,000-a-week wages.

According to Football Insider, a source from within Celtic has said that the Kenya international is keen on a reunion with Hoops boss Neil Lennon, under whom Wanyama played in his first spell at Parkhead.

According to the Daily Mail, the Hoops had hoped to get Wanyama in on loan before the summer transfer window in Scotland closed on September 2nd.

Will Celtic get to 10 in a row?
