Slovenian international Andraz Sporar is set to complete his transfer to Sporting Lisbon ‘later this week’, according to a report on A BOLA.

The 25-year-old could still play at Celtic Park because the Portuguese side are in the knockout stages of the Europa League and if Celtic and Sporting progress, they could clash in the next round.

The report confirms that Sporar will travel to Lisbon this week with his medical already booked and a contract of four and a half years waiting for his signature.

Do you think Celtic should have done more to sign Sporar?

Sporar has been sensational in this year’s UEFA Europa League, netting five times in the six group stage matches.

We feel that his goalscoring talent would have been incredibly useful to Neil Lennon, but the Hoops have already completed the signing of forward Patryk Klimala earlier this week.

The Portuguese news outlet also reports that the fee for Sporar is around €7m, with both clubs still negotiating how the payments will be made.
