On-loan Celtic central defender Jack Hendry has admitted his relief at finally getting back playing regular football after months of hell with injury.

It couldn’t have gone better.

The 25-year made his return after nine months, due to a mix of injury and football being stopped due to the coronavirus pandemic, this weekend for Oostende.

So I had a lot of difficult months.

Early on, there was increased pressure placed on Hendry, with injuries to other central defenders forcing former manager Brendan Rodgers, to play him more than he may have wanted to at the start of his Celtic career.

As reported by the Daily Record, Hendry spoke honestly on how glad he was to finally be back and about a debut that couldn’t have gone any better for him.

His return was even topped off with a ‘dream’ late winner, as he led the side to a 1-0 victory over KV Mechelen.
