'Nervous about this' - These Celtic fans panicked when they saw what Rodgers did on Wednesday

On Wednesday night, Brendan Rodgers’ side were lucky that Steven Gerrard’s men couldn’t capitalise at home to Aberdeen as they could only muster a 1-1 draw at Fir Park.

Ryan Christie opened the scoring for the Hoops, but then a late Danny Johson strike just two minutes from time levelled it, however, it could have been different had Rodgers not rung the changes.

Rodgers made a total of seven changes from the side that overcame Aberdeen in the Scottish League Cup final on Sunday, and with only Kieran Tierney, Filip Benkovic, Ryan Christie and Callum McGregor keeping their places, a lot of the Bhoys watching on feared the worst.

It definitely wasn’t the worst result in the world against Motherwell either, but it just means that they have more work to do further down the line.

Whilst this season has hardly been plain sailing for the Hoops so far, there isn’t much doubt that they will find their best form and win the Scottish Premier League this season, despite the best efforts of Rangers, as always, and the surprise package Kilmarnock who are now top of the league following their win over Livingston yesterday.

The key for Rodgers now will be to avoid making wholesale changes to his lineups and trying to keep the momentum and rhythm going as they aim to win their games in hand and retake top spot.

You can read the Hoops’ thoughts on Rodgers’ lineup here: The Bhoys will be desperate to get back to winning ways on Saturday, where they face a huge clash at Parkhead against league leaders Kilmarnock.
