Victor Wanyama is one of many foreign talents who strutted their stuff for Celtic before moving down south to play in the English topflight.

At just 20-years-old Kenyan Victor Wanyama secured a £1 million move from Belgian side Germinal Beerschot, snubbing Rangers and Aston Villa (as per Daily Mail).

Unfortunately, serious injuries have seen Wanyama fall out of reckoning in north London and reported moves away from the club are common practise around the transfer window.

But, just like Celtic, Southampton too fell victim to the football food chain.

“It feels great and I am happy to be here,” said Wanyama in 2013, having just become the most expensive player bought from a Scottish club (BBC Sport), a record now held by another former Celtic in Moussa Dembele (per Transfermarkt).

“Southampton is a good club and it has good players, so I just want to train hard and work hard to be a part of the starting XI.

“It has always been a dream of mine to play for a club like Celtic,” he told the club’s official website (via BBC Sport).
