Neil Lennon has this morning confirmed that promising youngster Karamoko Dembele will be in the first-team squad for the final league game of the season against Hearts on Sunday.

The interim manager said in his pre-match press conference on Thursday that the reserve team star “is a possibility and has been training with the first team squad this week”, as reported by Celtic’s official Twitter account.

Dembele has shot to fame already before he has even played for the first team with some sparkling displays in the reserves, and if he plays against Hearts, will become one the youngest players to make their first team appearance for Celtic – Jack Aitchison still holds the record however at 16 years and 71 days old.

Lennon also confirmed that new signing Maryan Shved will not feature as the club are unable to use him due to the fact he is not registered to play in the league this season.

Sunday will see Scott Brown lift the Premier League trophy for the eighth successive season, and the manager went on to heap praise on the club captain.

Trophy day at Celtic Park is becoming something of a routine these days, but with a renewed challenge from across the city, a freshening up of the squad will be needed to ensure these days continue.
