Liam Burt has revealed that he was always hoping to return to Celtic despite signing for Rangers as a youngster, and this is certainly a positive for the Hoops.

According to the Scotsman via Celtic View, Burt claimed he has wanted to return to Parkhead ever since he left, as Celtic are his “boyhood club.” This is my boyhood club and, ever since I left, I’ve wanted to come back.

Do you think Burt's comments are a positive for Celtic?

Having one of your best young talents state his desire to return to the club despite joining your close rivals at U12 level is definitely something Celtic should see as a positive.

Furthermore, it highlights how good the atmosphere is at Celtic for the young players and Burt’s comments will make youngsters both at the club and linked with a move want to stay at Lennoxtown or make the switch.

It emphasises the pull Celtic have over the rest of the side’s in Scotland and most importantly Rangers, and will give the club a boost should any of their rivals look to sign a player the Hoops are targeting.
