Forster has had a nightmare at Southampton!

After initially becoming a top star for the English side after his £9million sale from Celtic, the Geordie sustained a Patella rupture in March 2015 which saw him out of action until January 2016.

The goalkeeper who had signed a new long term deal with the club became their number one upon return and made 20 Premier League appearances last season but a string of erratic and below par performances meant the Englishman would get benched.

Southampton made Alex McCarthy their number one with Forster playing backup.

Then things got worse in the summer when goalkeeper Angus Gunn was brought in to be Southampton’s number 2, leaving Fraser in no man’s land.

Talk of a Southampton revival for the ex-Celt was shot down quickly by his boss, Ralph Hasenhüttl who told the media Fraser will continue to play for the under 23s until he gets a move.

The 30-year-old is on big money at St Mary’s, is he just happy collecting his pay or does he want to get back to playing?
