Flashback: Jo Inge Berget flopped at Celtic before coming back to haunt them

In July 2014, Ronny Deila brought Jo Inge Berget to Parkhead on a six-month loan deal, as reported by the Daily Mail.

In our latest instalment of the Flashback series, we take a look back at a certain moment and look at how things might have changed those initial reactions.

Celtic have worked the loan market excellently this summer to bring in Mohamed Elyounoussi from Southampton, with the Norwegian winger already on seven goals for the club after only 10 appearances following his double against Hibernian in last weekend’s Betfred Cup semi-final, as per TransferMarkt.

Berget ultimately had the last laugh on Celtic that year, but his time in Glasgow was short and not so sweet, and now looks even more underwhelming in the context of how brilliantly his fellow countryman Elyounoussi has been performing in his loan spell for the Hoops.

Berget then joined Malmo, who in a twist of fate would meet Celtic in the Champions League play-offs in August 2015.

Celtic fans, how did you rate Berget during his time at the club?
