Linfield manager David Healy has admitted that highly-rated midfielder Charlie Allen is unlikely to remain at the club beyond this window, as interest from Celtic, Rangers and Aberdeen begins to intensify.

Allen was named in Linfield’s 25 man squad for their Champions League qualifier against Rosenborg, despite being just 15 years old, and this has attracted the attention of a host of Scottish clubs including Celtic.

Such is Charlie’s talent, he’s good enough to go across the water in the future and have his pick of clubs.

Glenn Ferguson would tell you that from his work with the Academy and David Healy sees that he is a great talent and wants to aid his development.

Had he made an appearance in the club’s 2-0 defeat at Windsor Park, Allen would’ve become the youngest player to appear in Europe’s most prestigious competition.

Healy had this to say about Allen: Charlie was named in the 25-man squad for the Rosenborg game which tells you how much we rate him.

Despite failing to get on to the pitch, the enigmatic playmaker is expected to play a big role in Linfield’s league season and this all whilst still being at school.
