Celtic are showing an interest in former Huddersfield Town manager David Wagner, as they eye their next permanent manager.

According to The Sunday People, via The Examiner, Celtic think very highly of Wagner following his work at Huddersfield in England.

The report claims that they are interested in his high-pressing style of play, which brought him success in the Championship for Huddersfield.

Wagner left Huddersfield earlier this year, midway through his second season in the Premier League with the club – after leading them to promotion from the Championship during the 2016/17 campaign.

Celtic are looking at potential candidates to take the job full-time, with Neil Lennon currently in caretaker charge until the end of the season – due to Brendan Rodgers’ switch across the border to manage Leicester in the Premier League.

The report also claims that Celtic manager Neil Lennon has come under fire from supporters for his style of play this year, which may be what has attracted the club to Wagner.
