Celtic have revealed that they will return to the UAE during the winter break for warm weather training. The Hoops have made the trip to the middle east for the previous three seasons under previous manager, Brendan Rodgers, a trend which Neil Lennon is eager to continue.

Lennon’s men will face Rangers in the second Glasgow Derby of the season on December 29th before going away. The Hoops will train at the Nad Al Sheba Sports Complex, a facility recently used by Real Madrid, Manchester United and AC Milan.

Warm weather training is evidently beneficial, why else would it be so popular, particularly with the most succesful teams in Europe.

Winter in Glasgow can be intense, and training in such conditions just is not beneficial for the body and mind, making the trip a no-brainer, especially when it has worked for them as a team in the past. It goes without saying that the trip would be a huge psychological boost; almost a mid season holiday to refresh the squad and implement that essential energy into the second half of the season.

It makes perfect sense for Celtic to undergo warm weather training, and more clubs should follow suit, particularly struggling teams who could do with a break and a reboot.
