Celtic are exploring a deal for Bournemouth's former French under-21 striker Lys Mousset.

Reluctant to smash the £9m record fee paid for Odsonne Edouard last summer, the Scottish champions are prepared to offer players plus cash to secure a deal.

Bournemouth have a long-standing interest in Parkhead full-back Kieran Tierney.

Facing a double hernia operation this summer it's understood the Scotland international is not one of the players the Scottish champions are prepared to sacrifice to get Mousset.

A £6million signing from Le Havre in 2016, Mousset has started 19 games for the south coast club, making most of his appearances as a substitute.

Expected to attract significant interest, Mousset is interested in a move to the SPFL after viewing the first team progress of countrymen Moussa Dembele and Odsonne Edouard.

Against a backdrop of uncertainty surrounding interim manager Neil Lennon and the departure of former head of recruitment Lee Congerton for Leicester City, the Parkhead club face a major squad rebuild this summer.
