Neil Lennon has confirmed that he is hopeful Leigh Griffiths will be fit in time for the Scottish Cup final next month.

Lennon has now revealed that he believes Griffiths could go one better in the final against Hearts on May 25, potentially taking to the Hampden turf: Yeah, it is realistic for Leigh.

Griffiths has excelled at Celtic since joining from Wolves in 2014, scoring 104 goals in just 198 appearances for the club.

His return would be an added bonus in yet another memorable season, bringing that all important firepower in the final third.

Griffiths returned to training at Lennoxtown in March and is “stepping up his recovery programme in a bid to regain full fitness”, according to the Scotsman.

But he’ll have to play and train for at least two weeks going into that final, so he then has a target of four weeks.

The popular striker has not played for the Hoops since December, having taken time out of the game because of mental health issues.
