Callum McGregor has given Celtic a huge fitness boost by returning to training on Friday.

The Daily Record reports that the midfielder was present at Lennoxtown having previously missed four games with a calf injury.

The Scot has not featured since the defeat to Spanish side Valencia in the Europa League and has been a noticeable absentee for the Hoops.

It had been suggested that McGregor may even miss out on the upcoming Glasgow Derby against rivals Rangers, but now it looks like he could feature.

McGregor’s return will come as a timely boost for Neil Lennon, with Celtic looking to push on to securing another domestic title.

It remains to be seen if the 25-year-old will be fit enough to feature against Dundee on Sunday, but Lennon hinted that the midfielder could be involved.
