Brendan Rodgers was asked if he was frustrated or pleased by the amount of money Celtic had in the bank during yesterday’s pre-match press conference, as reported by The Daily Record.

Obviously that’s a ridiculous healthy position to be in and Brendan Rodgers refused to be drawn into it being spun as a negative when asked if the news makes him pleased or frustrated.

As quoted by The Daily Record, the Hoops boss said: It doesn’t do either really.

Rodgers knows better than anyone the value he holds to Celtic and the Celtic board.

The media are clearly looking for fresh drama at the club after the Hoops boss went on the record to criticise the club’s player recruitment at a critical time of last summer’s transfer window.

However, in every way the club is in a healthy position and of course that makes me happy.

I’ve loved my time here, my job is to develop players, add value and win because that’s the vision you need to have as a Celtic manager.
