Over the next few weeks, the Celtic View will look at our 21 greatest goalscorers, which includes our current No.9, Leigh Griffiths, looking briefly at the careers of the men occupying the top scoring spots.

Today we feature the Magnificent Seven, the King of Kings, the Super Swede himself, Henrik Larsson who, over the course of seven seasons with Celtic established himself as one of the greatest players ever to have worn the Hoops.

By the time the dust settled on his Celtic career in 2004, he had netted 242 goals to take third place inthe all-time goalscoring charts... and even then, his scoring at Paradise didn't end there as he returned the following season and scored for Barcelona against Celtic!

Henrik Larsson
Appearances: 315
Goals: 242
Debut: Celtic 1-2 Hibs; 03/08/1997

In seven seasons at Celtic, the player known as the 'Magnificent Seven' established himself as one of the greatest ever to play for the Hoops, and became the third top goalscorer of all-time behind Bobby Lennox (277) and Jimmy McGrory (468).

Henrik Larsson was signed from Feyenoord by Wim Jansen in 1997 and the Swedish striker helped Celtic win their first title in a decade, stopping Rangers' bid for 10-in-a-row in the process. He proved to be a goalscoring machine, and when he returned in season 2000/01 following a leg break, he was better than ever.

He scored 53 goals in all competitions that treble-winning season, including 35 in the league, which gave him Europe's Golden Boot Award.

He helped fire Celtic to the UEFA Cup final in 2003, though his two goals in that game against Porto were not enough to help the Hoops win the trophy. He did later lift the Champions League, however, when he helped Barcelona beat Arsenal three years later. However, Henrik Larsson will always be Celtic's Magnificent Seven.

Tomorrow: Stevie Chalmers
