SCOTT Brown said the new Bhoys in the team have set the bar high with their recent performances and now must push on as Celtic return to action this weekend.

Celtic will travel to New Douglas Park this Saturday to face Hamilton Accies in the league, two weeks on from the last fixture.

The champions went into the international break on a high having secured European football as wel as defeating Rangers in the first Glasgow derby of the season.

New Bhoys, Christopher Jullien, Boli Bolingoli and Hatem Elhamed impressed with their performances before the break and now their captain is calling on them to continue to raise the bar.

“They were fantastic at Ibrox,” said Brown. “They’ve set their standard now and they need to make sure they push on from there.

“We’ve brought in three right-backs, another left-back came in as well as a left winger. The squad’s looking really good now.”

Neil Lennon’s side will look to continue their strong form against a Hamilton side who sit seventh in the league table. Brown said he anticipated a difficult game given the surface and Hamilton’s playing style.

“It’s going to be hard,” said Brown. “Astroturf is always hard, it slows the game down. We’re not sure if they’re going to play with two or one up so we’ll suss that out on the day.

“They’ve probably not had the best start, but every time we go there they always make it hard for us. They’re always compact as a team and defend as a team, so it’s always a hard place to go to and we just need to make sure we bring our 'A' game.

“We’re not thinking about the Europa League. We focus on Hamilton just now. When you start thinking of two games ahead you start dropping points.

“It’s about three-points, making sure you score goals, don’t make it a sloppy game and play in their half.”
