Arsenal are closing in on a deal for Kieran Tierney after launching another bid of £25million for the Celtic man, claim numerous reports.

According to BBC Scotland reporter Chris McLaughlin, Arsenal have finally offered Celtic’s £25million asking price for their left-back.

The Sun also report similar news, while Sky Sports claim “Arsenal have made an improved offer in the region of £25million” for the player they have been tracking for some time.

Sky also claim that Arsenal’s first bid of £15million was rejected three weeks ago, while Serie A side Napoli are now also interested in Tierney, who is a boyhood Celtic fan.

If the deal goes through it will be the biggest transfer in Scottish football history, but the deal could be hampered with Tierney recovering from a double hernia operation.

On Friday Celtic boss Neil Lennon revealed no fresh bids had been made for the 22-year-old, who is under contract until 2023.

“No,” Lennon replied when asked whether there had been a new bid for the player. “He’s still injured. He is rehabbing. He had the double hernia and he still has the osteitis pubis problem, so it’s a slow burner.”
